MONGAR AND LHUNTSE BHUTAN

Mongar & Lhuntse – The Eastern Holiday

Mongar has a colder climate across the year and is perched at about 5200 ft above the sea level. To visit Mongar, one has to travel through Bumthang and the drive is simply fabulous. On route you will get to see and photograph the beautiful flowers, gushing waterfalls and the Thrumshing La Pass. Adorned with steep cliffs and drops the drive is breathtaking travelling into Eastern Bhutan.

Mongar is the second largest city in Eastern Bhutan and is built on the side of a hill like many other towns in the region. While towns in Western Bhutan are mostly on the valley floor, Eastern Bhutan is mystique in its architecture too.

There are many places to visit in and around Mongar, let us check them out.
